CPSC, Polaris Industries Announces Recall of Select Model Year 2004 and 2005 SnowmobilesThe following product safety recall was conducted voluntarily by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Customers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Polaris Snowmobiles -- See affected model table. Units: About 14,000 Manufacturer/Importer: Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minn. Hazard: The fuel tank filler neck may develop a crack at the base where the filler neck meets the fuel tank assembly. This may cause the neck to separate from the fuel tank assembly and allow fuel to escape from the tank, potentially creating a fire hazard. Incidents/Injuries: No injuries have been reported. Description: Only select model year Polaris snowmobiles are part of this recall. The model and serial number (VIN) identification decal is located on the right-side of the tunnel underneath the seat.
