California Firm Recalls Dumplings With Meat That May Contain GlassWASHINGTON, Dec. 8, 2003 – Golden Crown Foods Inc., a City of Industry, Calif., firm is voluntarily recalling approximately 14,400 pounds of frozen dumplings with meat that may contain pieces of glass, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today. The dumplings subject to recall are approximately 21 oz. bags of:
Each package bears the establishment number "Est. 18823" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The dumplings were packed between Oct. 7 and Dec. 8, 2003 and were distributed to grocery stores in California. The products subject to recall have date codes beginning with the letter J, K and L, denoting products produced in October, November and December. For products produced between Oct. 7 and Oct. 31, the date codes are J07 through J31. For products produced between Nov. 1 and Nov. 30, the date codes are K01 through K30 and for products produced between Dec. 1 and Dec. 8, the date codes are L01 through L08. The recall was initiated after the company reported to FSIS that it had received consumer complaints. Anyone concerned about an injury from consumption of these products should contact a physician.
